A business for purpose
Since beginning in 2003, Lifestyle Communities has always aspired to be morally, ethically and socially responsible. To do this, our guiding principle was to create a business for purpose, not a purpose for business.
When we started, we researched many different over 50s living models around Australia and the United States and were unimpressed with nearly everything we found. The communities were either too expensive, had poor facilities, were poorly managed and in nearly every case, the homeowner was almost secondary to the purpose of the community.
We decided we’d do something very different. At the same time in Australia there were no truly affordable communities that were focused on providing sustainable housing rather than driving development profits. This created a unique opportunity to service a market and a need that was not being met at the time.
