Our Privacy Policy details the kind of information we collect, why we need it and how we use it. It also sets out some of your rights in relation to personal information and how you can contact us with privacy queries.
In this Privacy Policy “we”, “our”, and “us” means Lifestyle Communities®.
1. Collection of Information
Lifestyle Communities® collects personal information in order to carry on the business of building and operating affordable residential communities, and to communicate with existing and potential homeowners.
1.1 How Information is Collected?
Personal information is generally collected through the various Lifestyle Communities® websites, the internet, at shows, displays, open days, competitions, questionnaires, surveys, luncheons, dinners, talks at community groups (including but not limited to RSL, and bowls clubs), at actual Lifestyle Communities® locations and other places. Phone calls made with our contact centre team, and information that you share with us, are recorded using software called Aircall, for training purposes.
From time to time, members of Lifestyle Communities® conduct surveys, sales events, information events and other sales and marketing events for potential homeowners and new homeowners which may involve the collection of personal information.
Lifestyle Communities® also completes marketing initiatives where users of the Lifestyle Communities® website submit details of a potential homeowners who they feel would benefit from learning more about the Lifestyle Communities® product and the submitters of this information (including name, email and phone number) acknowledge that they have received permission to have these details submitted on their behalf.
We may also collect personal information through photos taken at our events or submitted via our surveys, where the identity of the individual/s is clear or can be reasonably determined.
1.2 Types of Personal Information We Collect
We collect a variety of personal information from our homeowners, potential homeowners and people we do business with, including the following:
- names and contact details, date of birth, personal identification;
- credit card or bank account details; and
- information related to community management such as, but not limited to, visitor and pet information, home address, emergency contact details, vehicle details, utilities information/details.
We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors. We also do not collect, use or disclose sensitive personal information other than credit card or banking details. We may collect your credit card or banking details in order to procure payment for products or services you request, however such financial information will be treated in a different manner to the rest of your personal information, as detailed below.
1.3 How is Personal Information Used?
When Lifestyle Communities® collects personal information from you, we will use it for the reasons we collected it and for other reasonable business purposes, which may include:
a) to database, store and process your personal information to provide you with the products and/or services you have requested;
b) to enable us to improve and develop our products and services;
c) to understand your needs, to customise services to meet your needs and preferences, and to provide you with a better service;
d) market research;
e) to assess suitability for a position at Lifestyle Communities®;
f) development of websites and other value-added services for our homeowners;
g) development of programs or material that may benefit our homeowners;
h) connecting you with third parties that provide products and services you are likely to be interested in, based on our interactions with you;
i) tailoring communication in order to confer information that is relevant and useful;
j) in the management and administration of Lifestyle Communities® communities, including;
- investigating and resolving complaints;
- ensuring that residences within Lifestyle Communities® communities are secure; and
- advertising a residence for sale;
k) to process your request to participate in a community activity, and providing you with ancillary support and services for that activity;
l) to assist you in the case of any injury or emergency in connection with us or that occurs on our premises;
m) to exercise our duty of care to you when you are on our premises;
n) to comply with applicable laws, including but not limited to, the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (VIC);
o) if applicable, to process your payment in connection with your participation in community activities;
p) to ensure your safety when on our premises and verifying any instances of a breach of our rules, an applicable law or a complaint by way of video recording and image capture; and
q) for such secondary purposes that are closely related to the purposes above in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.
We will only use sensitive information we hold about you for the primary purpose for which it was collected or for a purpose directly related to the primary purpose, and where you would reasonably expect us to use or disclose it for that purpose.
1.4 To Whom is Personal Information Disclosed?
Lifestyle Communities® will generally only disclose your personal information to third parties if the disclosure is necessary to answer your enquiry or request, to supply you with products and/or services requested, or to complete the services we provide.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties:
a) where we have sought your consent or as is otherwise allowed or required by law;
b) to our related companies, contractors, suppliers or service providers for the purposes of providing products and services on our behalf and performing our administration and other operations, including accounting and finance checks, IT, marketing, record keeping and statistical purposes, market research, safety purposes, fulfilment services and/or website traffic analysis;
c) to government agencies, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, medical providers or other similar entities;
d) to any entity to which we propose to assign any part of our business; and
e) or to other organisations with whom we have contractual agreements.
From time to time Lifestyle Communities® may employ third party advertising companies who are used to measure the effectiveness of any advertising by monitoring traffic on the website. Any information disclosed to these third party advertising companies by Lifestyle Communities® is anonymous and does not identify people.
If any such third parties collect your information they will have their own obligations regarding treatment of your information, and if you have any concerns about those parties you should liaise with them directly.
Lifestyle Communities® does not sell personal information to companies outside Lifestyle Communities®. Lifestyle Communities® does not disclose or sell personal information overseas.
2. Security of Information
The security of your personal information is important to us. When we have collected personal information about you it cannot be seen or modified by anyone other than those authorised to access the personal information for the purposes stated above.
We will endeavour to make reasonable efforts to ensure personal information is stored securely both in electronic and physical forms and to keep this information accurate, up to date, complete and relevant. We will ensure only those necessary have access to your personal information. Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been put in place to reasonably secure any personal information collected from misuse, interference or loss, and in order to prevent unauthorised access, modification to or disclosure of that information. No employee is able to access information they do not require for the proper carrying on of their job. There are also passwords and security accesses in place to restrict access of confidential and personal information about individuals to those that need it in the carrying on of their positions.
3. Accessing and correcting personal information held by us
Under the Act, you have rights of access to and correction of personal information that we hold.
3.1 Accessing your personal information held by us
You may request access to your personal information held by us by contacting our Privacy Officer (contact details below). In most cases we will provide you with access to your personal information within 30 days. However, there are circumstances where we are permitted to refuse access in part or in full to the extent it would not be permitted under the Act. In most cases we will provide you with access to your personal information free of charge. However, we reserve the right to recover our reasonable costs of providing you with access to your personal information held by us. If we decided to charge you for accessing your personal information, we will notify you of this beforehand.
You can also ask us to delete your personal information from our records at any time and we will action that request provided that we are not restricted from doing so by law.
3.2 Correcting your personal information
If you believe that we hold personal information about you that is wrong (which include inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading), you may request that we correct the personal information. If you wish to make such a request, you should contact our Privacy Offer (contact details below). Where we are satisfied that the personal information is wrong, we will take such steps (if any) as are reasonable in the circumstances to correct the personal information.
4. Opting out from CEMs and direct marketing
If you do not wish for your personal information to be used or disclosed by us for the purpose of distributing sales and/or marketing related Commercial Electronic Messages (“CEMs”) i.e. via email or SMS, or alternatively direct marketing messages i.e. via mail or phone, please contact our Privacy Officer (contact details below). Alternatively, you can opt-out of receiving such CEMs and/or direct marketing messages and adjust your preferences by following the instructions provided in our communications. We will then update our records depending on your preferences.
5. Complaining about a breach of privacy by us including a breach of our obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles
If you believe that we have acted in a manner that breaches your privacy (including under the Australian Privacy Principles), we recommend that you contact our Privacy Officer (contact details above) in the first instance. 6. Cookies
Lifestyle Communities® collects information regarding visitors to our websites including information regarding what pages are accessed. Lifestyle Communities® collects and logs this information for statistical purposes.
Through the use of a cookie, Lifestyle Communities® can record the pages you visit and the information you require. Through analysis of these records, Lifestyle Communities® endeavours to provide you with an improved service when you revisit the Lifestyle Communities® website.
We also collect information volunteered by you through website registrations. This information is used to fulfil on your request for more information. Lifestyle Communities® endeavours to use and disclose your personal information only in limited circumstances.
A cookie is a small data file that a website may write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information, such as a user ID, that the website uses to track the pages you have visited. The only personal information a cookie can contain is information you personally supply. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other websites. The Lifestyle Communities® website uses cookies to track user traffic patterns and to better serve you when you revisit the website. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, providing you with the opportunity to either accept or reject it. You can also refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser.

You should contact the Computershare Privacy Officer as above if you as an investor/shareholder have a complaint about privacy or would like access to your details/update your information, which Computershare hold on behalf of Lifestyle Communities®. For your protection they may only disclose personal information if their internal procedures are satisfied. If you are not satisfied by Computershare’s response to your privacy concerns you should contact the Lifestyle Communities® Privacy Officer.
However if your securities holding is sponsored by a broker, Computershare will not be able to update your personal information. You will need to contact your broker to do this.

9. Changes to Lifestyle Communities® Privacy Policy
