Introducing Our Mount Duneed Community Managers: Maxine & Steve

0 J8 A8633 Steven and Maxine Scicluna
We’re excited to introduce you to the new Community Managers at Lifestyle Mount Duneed, Maxine & Steve. You’ll soon discover that although the pair are moving in to a brand-new community, they’re not exactly newbies to the Lifestyle Communities® family. We spent 5 mins getting to know them a bit better so that you could too!

So, Maxine and Steve, even though you’re about to take on the big job of being Community Managers at brand new Lifestyle Mount Duneed, you’ve been with Lifestyle Communities® for some time now. Tell us more.

Well we’ve been the Community Managers at Lifestyle Geelong since 2015 and at Lifestyle Hastings for the two years prior to that — both were brand new communities and we’ve just loved our daily interaction with the homeowners at both. We particularly love seeing them enjoy our amazing Clubhouse facilities.

Well clearly being Community Managers with Lifestyle Communities® is something you’re not growing tired of then! What do you enjoy most about your job?

We really appreciate seeing the excitement on a homeowner’s face when they first move into their new home. You just can’t beat that sense of anticipation and joy as they begin to realise everything before them — things that will be key to their lives from now on.

And on a more personal note, we really love the amazing support and friendship that we feel from all teams within the Lifestyle Communities® family.

In moving to the Mount Duneed area, what are you most looking forward to?

First and foremost, we’re just really excited to be going on a journey of creating and establishing a new community, through all the mud, dust and construction to wonderful neighbours, fun and friendships. We’ve done this a few times before, setting up Lifestyle Geelong and Lifestyle Hastings and we’re looking forward to putting that experience to great use in helping to make Lifestyle Mount Duneed an amazing community. But we’re also really looking forward to moving that little bit closer to Torquay where we used to live.

What do you love to do in your spare time?

We both really enjoy hiking and Steve had an incredible experience recently completing the incredibly challenging and emotionally powerful Kokoda Track. Maxine loves playing tennis and getting fit, working up a sweat at “Boomers Bootcamp”. And we both like spending time with family and friends.

In three words, what does “community” mean to you?

Friendship, belonging, and welcoming.

What sort of activities can future homeowners at Lifestyle Mount Duneed expect to enjoy?

My gosh, there are so many that it’s difficult to fit into a concise sentence or two. This is a 5-minute chat right? It really depends on what you’re into, but to name a few key amenities, there’s a pickleball court, croquet and lawn balls and the pool table will be very popular day or night. If you’re looking for exercise, there will be aqua aerobics, tai chi, yoga and various exercise classes in the gym. Or if you just want to have some fun, you can look forward to line dancing, card games, happy hour, movie nights and bingo. We’ve left plenty out!

What are the services that homeowners can expect to receive from you, as Community Managers?

You can see us as an all-round Mr and Mrs Fix It, designed to help you with the little, but not unimportant things. Our jobs are not limited to but include services like changing your light bulbs and batteries in your smoke detectors, to helping with any incoming or outgoing mail and parcels, faxing, printing, or scanning. We’ll help you with boxes and rubbish removal after you initially settle in to the community and ensure everything runs smoothly with your NBN internet, electricity and water connection. If in doubt, just ask!

You’ve enjoyed attending the Meet & Greet events with new homeowners. How are they feeling about moving in?

Lots of anticipation and plenty of excitement. And from us too!

What advice would you give anyone who might be thinking of moving to Lifestyle Mount Duneed?

The first piece of advice would be just do it! We hear plenty of people procrastinating about the time to downsize and waiting for the perfect moment. We just say, don’t leave it too long to seize such a life changing opportunity to reinvent yourself.

And if you are not from the area and do move to Mount Duneed, we urge you to explore everything that the Bellarine Peninsula has to offer.

Finally, the most important question: Pineapple on a pizza? Yes or no?

Yes, we are both pineapple on pizza people… and you should try saying that phrase fast 10 times.
